Guardian Roof Polymers AromaticBase Coat PC is a two-component bio-based urethane base coat that exhibitsstrong adhesion to numerous substrates. Itproduces a tough film that provides robustprotection to foam substrates and preventsoil migration on asphalt-based roofs. Thisproduct is not a finish coat and should betop coated with silicone, aliphatic urethane,or acrylic coatings to provide excellentweatherability, UV resistance, and highreflectance to promote a cool roof.

Recommended Use
- Guardian Roof Polymers Aromatic Base Coat PC is designed to rejuvenate and extend the life of aged asphaltic, single-ply and previously coated roofs. It provides excellent oil migration resistance on asphaltic roofs without the application of bleed blocking primers. It also provides excellent protection for foam roofs due to the tough cured film.
Thinning
- Thinning is not normally required. If necessary, thin with an approved solvent within recommended limits.
Mixing
- Mix both Part A and Part B thoroughly using a mechanical mixer before combining. Mix ratio is 4:1 (volume) of Part A to Part B.
Surface Preparation
- Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, and other contaminants. Repair defects prior to coating.
Application
- Product can be applied with phenolic core roller or brush. Flood coating can be used for covering aggregate coated tar and asphalt roofs. Apply mixed Aromatic Base Coat (Part A and Part B) at a rate of 2 gal/square to achieve a dry film thickness of 32 mils on smooth surfaces. On gravel surfaces, up to 6 gallons/square may be required to adequately cover the aggregate.
DRY TIME
- 4 to 8 hours depending on conditions. Allow to cure overnight before top coating.
Limitations
- Do not apply to previously silicone coated roofs or in areas where ponding water will be present.

PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS: PREVENTION: Observe good industrial hygiene practices. RESPONSE: Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Dispose of contents and container in accordance with all local, regional, national and international regulations.
